Coquelin Signs A New Deal & Freeman Sold To Stevenage

by on January 10, 2012

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has signed a new long-term contract with the North London club. The French U-21 midfielder spent last season at French Ligue 1 side Lorient where he impressed. Arsène Wenger decided not to loan out Coquelin this season and keep the young Frenchman in Arsenal’s first-team. Coquelin has featured twelve times for Arsène Wenger’s side this season already. He has shown his versatility playing at right-back and left-back this season which are unfamiliar roles to him, Coquelin’s natural position is in midfield.

Luke Freeman has joined League One side Stevenage permanently for an undisclosed fee from Arsenal. Freeman was on loan at Stevenage but decided to make the switch permanent. I was surprised Arsenal decided to let Freeman go but that’s football.

Another English kid who never got a shot gets blown out but hey guess what we’ve got another Frenchy long term! All the talk is about French players or French speaking players M’Villa, Ayew, Gourcouff, Valbuena, Benzema, Abidal. If Weenier wants the best why are they always French? Squid & Cygan & Sylvestre were sh*t. Buy Cahill FFS and let the young London lads have a go before buying more French teenagers from God knows where and Chelski rejects. I’m happy Henry’s back and Kosc is a different bloke to last year but lets keep some respect and give the kids who’ve been at Arsenal since they were 8 or something a chance.
