Wenger on Arsenal’s Performane, Walcott’s Absent & More

by on December 27, 2011

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger spoke about Arsenal’s frustrating draw against Wolves today at the Emirates.

Arsène Wenger on his team’s performance and the result of the match.

“I am more frustrated by the result than the spirit, you cannot fault our desire to win the game”

“Wolves fought like mad. It was more important to go in 1-0 up at half time because we would have more space to play”

“It looks like for us to get a penalty we have to fight very hard. But we had enough to win the game without these decisions”

“Maybe we weren’t relaxed enough [in our finishing]. Maybe we wanted it too much. It is a shame we could not take advantage”

The Frenchman also spoke about Wayne Hennessey outstanding performance.

“The keeper had the game of his life. It’s the kind of game where you play 20 times, you win 19 and you draw one”

Lastly Wenger on Theo Walcott’s absent.

“Walcott is sick, he has a stomach problem, he could not come to training but he should be available for Saturday”
