Wenger to make a decision on Henry tomorrow

by on December 24, 2011

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger says he hasn’t made a decision yet if he will sign former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry on a loan deal in January. Henry is currently training with Arsenal at London Colney with Arsenal’s first-team because it’s the MLS break. The former French international now plays for New York Red Bulls and would be available until late February if he signs for the Gunners on loan.

With the likes of Gervinho and Chamakh going to the African Nations Cup in mid January until February, Arsenal will be short up front.  Arsène Wenger is looking to bring in another forward in January and recently said this about signing Henry on loan.

“That’s why I have Christmas Day off – I have to think about that,”

“Short-term is ideal for us, but I haven’t made any enquiry yet, Thierry is not here at the moment.”

“It has never come up in conversation!”

“The first of January is the vital date for us. We have seven days to make decisions and I will make a decision in the next seven days on players.”
