Gibbs out for another month

by on December 23, 2011

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has undergone surgery on the left side of his groin and is expected be out for a month. Gibbs hasn’t played for the Gunners since October after having surgery to remove a hernia. Arsenal were hoping Gibbs would have been back and available for the Aston Villa game or at the latest the Wolves game.  The left-back suffered a setback earlier this week and recently saw a specialist.

With Gibbs being out for a month it makes Arsenal defensive options even more limited because Johan Djourou, André Santos, Carl Jenkinson and Bacary Sagna are all unavailable for the North London club.

Wenger on Gibbs today at his press conference.

“Kieran Gibbs has had surgery on his left groin and he will be out for a month,”
