Wenger Could Be Forced In To The Loan Market

by on December 20, 2011

Kieran Gibbs has suffered a setback in his recovery from a stomach injury, this could mean Arsène Wenger could be forced to enter the loan market in January. Gibbs hasn’t played for the Gunners since they defeated Sunderland at the Emirates in October.

Arsène Wenger on the English defender’s setback.

“It depends now on Gibbs,”

“He sees a specialist again today [Tuesday] and if something happens there that he has had a real setback then possibly, yes.”

The Frenchman also spoke about if he will get cover for the defence in January.

“It is not a shop, you just take a good opportunity that is on the market when you can. Overall that’s what we are doing at the moment. We are starting to look at players if Gibbs is not back.

Lastly Wenger mentioned Sagna is back in light training.

“On the other hand we have good news on Bacary Sagna because he has started to run again yesterday and today.”
