by on December 18, 2011

At the moment Arsenal have got injuries to defenders Johan Djourou, Carl Jenkinson, Bacary Sagna, André Santos and Kieran Gibbs has just returned to training after being out with a long-term injury recently. Rangers manager Ally McCoist recently spoke about the possibility of Arsenal recalling Kyle Bartley who is currently on loan at the Scottish side. Bartley who preferred position is as a center-back but he can operate at right-back or in midfield in a holding role.

French defender Sebastien Squillaci is likely to be sold in January and Ignasi Miquel is very inexperienced. Bartley doesn’t have any Premiership experience but he has had two loan spells in the Championship and two in the Scottish Premier League as well. The young Arsenal defender has only featured five times for Rangers this season after missing a couple months through injury.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist said this about Bartley being recalled back to the Emirates.

“It would be a concern that Arsenal might want him back because of their injuries, no doubt about that.”

“We are hopeful we have got him for the season, we are checking that up just now, but Kyle is very happy up here.”

Kyle Bartley on the possiability of being recalled.

“I came here at the start of the season with every intention to finish the season at Rangers.”

“Anything that happens at Arsenal is out of my hands.

“I’m not thinking of what could have been and there’s no point in looking back, I’m only interested in what I can do for Rangers for the rest of the season.

McCoist also mentioned how Arsenal send a scout to watch every game Bartley plays for Rangers.

“They wouldn’t send someone out on loan without knowing how they are getting on.”

“They report back to Arsene Wenger and keep in touch with Ally McCoist as well.
