Arsenal Loanees Round Up

by on December 17, 2011

Henri Lansbury started on the bench for West Ham today against Barnsley, the Arsenal loanee came on for Julien Faubert. But the England U-21 midfielder was forced to play in unfamiliar position at right-back for the Hammers. West Ham won the match 1-0 and Lansbury didn’t look out-of-place at fullback after coming on for the Championship side.

Chuks Aneke and Luke Freeman both started for Stevenage today against Tranmere Rovers. Aneke started in center midfield and Freeman started on the left of midfield in a 4-4-2. Both of the Arsenal loanees impressed for the League One side today. Many Stevenage fans have been saying Freeman was there best player today. Stevenage won the game 2-1, Freeman has fitted in really well according to some Stevenage fans. Aneke is still settling at the League One club, the more games he plays the better he will get. I don’ t think Stevenage know what Aneke best position is yet either where he played today or behind the main striker for them.

Sanchez Watt started for Sheffield Wednesday against Huddersfield in League One today. The match ended 4-4 with Huddersfield’s Jordan Rhodes scored four goals today against Sheffield Wednesday. Watt started up front and couldn’t really get in to the game which saw the Arsenal loanee substituted at half-time.  Watt can play in a number of positions on either wing, behind the striker or up front. I think at the moment Sheffield Wednesday are trying to figure out if Watt will be better as striker or a winger for them.

Kyle Bartley started for Rangers today in a holding midfield role against Inverness CT. A late Kyle Lafferty goal seven minutes from time was enough for Rangers to get all three points. Bartley cleared the ball off the line for Rangers, he stopped Lee Cox scoring for Inverness CT. Hopefully Bartley will get the chance to play as a center-back for Rangers soon.

Joel Campbell started up front for Lorient today against Marseille. The young striker was involved in the majority of Lorient’s attacks. He worked hard for Lorient chasing down defenders and was substituted on the 58th Minute. Lorient were defeated 2-1 by Marseille.
