Transfer talk, Theo wants more goals and a few interviews

by on December 14, 2011

Good evening all. A lot to get through today, so let’s start with the usual transfer guff then. Lukas Podolski has been speaking yet again about moving clubs and he’s suggested that, if he were to move, then he would probably look at moving abroad. Denilson [remember him?] wants to make his move to Sao Paulo permanent. Oh well, I hope he does well wherever he goes.  Tomáš Rosický has also been linked with Wolfsburg. The news appears to be that they could bid £5million for him, although the club are apparently waiting until the summer to sell the experienced midfielder. Personally, I think he’s massively under-rated at the club and that he’s a consummate professional. I’ve heard from a few sources that his contract runs out in the summer, which is the first thing I heard. I suppose we’ll hear more about that at a later date.

We’re short a left-back, as most people know, and there has been talk about us signing Taye Taiwo on loan. Those of you who follow me on twitter may have noticed I follow Milan and there’s a reason Taiwo isn’t first choice there. He’s good physically, but most Milan fans rate this move as highly unlikely. Luckily Kieran Gibbs has targeted our Boxing Day game at home to Wolves as his come-back match. A good choice, let’s hope he can stay fit. One other transfer related piece, Wenger on signing attackers.

Speaking of attackers, Theo Walcott is happy with the start to the season from both the team and himself, but admits that he would like to add goals to his game. Other players have been speaking, including Szczesny’s reaction after the Everton match, Aaron Ramsey ‘close-up and Emmanuel Frimpong on ‘swap-shop’.

Finally, the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup is tonight, with The Arsenal’s youngsters playing Derby. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing Martin Angha and Kyle Ebecilio in action. What about you?

That’s all from me for today, as always you can follow me on twitter @Savagegooner.

I think an emmergency loan buy for left back is essensial.

Taiwo on loan does sound exciting but unlikely. I have no doubt Wenger will stick to Vermaalen on the left and use Keiran sparingly.

Any news on good ole Sagna?

    Jenkinson anyone?

When will they be fit. Sagna’s been gone too long for my taste.
