Arsène Wenger Speaks About The January Transfer Window

by on December 13, 2011

Arsène Wenger recently spoke about the January transfer window. The Frenchman mentioned Arsenal are in a good financial position which puts them in a great position in January if they want to make any transfers. With the likes of Chamakh and Gervinho going to the African Cup of Nations, Arsenal will be a bit short of attacking options in January and early February. Will this force the Arsenal manager to spend?

Arsène Wenger speaks about the transfer window in January and about Arsenal’s financial situation.

“We lose players like Chamakh and Gervinho to the Africa Cup of Nations, so hopefully touch wood we do not get any injuries to our strikers,”

“But if an opportunity turns up in that department then we will buy.

“The situation, I must say, is a bit special. Economically the whole environment has changed and people suffer more. The clubs will suffer more financially and it’s much more difficult.

“Maybe we will have some opportunities because we are in a good financial situation.”

We all know Arsenal need another striker, they’ve been linked with German international Łukasz Podolski recently. Hopefully he is a main target for the North London club, he’s able to operate up front with a partner or as the alone striker.  Podolski can also play on either side in a front three.
