RIP Gary Speed, a draw with Fulham, City tonight and Goetze on his way?

by on November 29, 2011

Like everyone else, I can only start this post with the late Gary Speed. I woke late Sunday morning to hear the shocking news, which like everyone else, found it hard to believe. A great footballer in his day, and a real ambassador of the sport. He had a major effect on many people’s lives, as you could see from Shay Given in the minute respect paid to Speed at Swansea. Whatever your opinions are of his formers clubs, Gary Speed is a Premier League legend, and not many can claim that. Thoughts are with his family through this difficult time.

Now on to all things red and white. Arsenal hosted Putney FC in Saturday’s late kick off, where we dropped two points. I won’t lie, I was disappointed we didn’t take all three, I mean, who wouldn’t?! We have been playing some really good football in recent weeks, we were at home, and we had Robin van Persie. All the tonics needed for a win?! Apparently not. It was a shame, but what some of us tend to forget is that Fulham are no pushovers. They can be very good defensively when set up the right way, and they weren’t going to come to the red side of North London to be another team on RVP and co’s hit-list. Credit where it’s due. Let’s not get too disheartened, the league is a marathon, not a sprint. Plus with Manure Utd, Liverfools, and Man Shitty all dropping points, we can take that as some consolation.

Speaking of Man Shitty, the rich bastards come down to Arsenal tonight in the quarter-final of the Carling Cup. I’m not expecting to go through, as their second string are well capable of even beating our first team, but nevertheless, football is a funny game, and Arsenal will always be the team I support, so why can’t our boys pull off a surprise and ram their giant wads of money back down their throats?! One positive is that Mario Balotelli is suspended for this match after his dismissal against Liverpool on Sunday. $amir ‘the unloyal, greedy, backstabbing, ungrateful, money-grabbing little cunt’ Na$ri, should be in the starting line-up. Unfortunately I won’t be there tonight to shout at him for how much of a cunt he is. Not like he would hear me anyway, but it’s just that bit of self-satisfaction. Oh come on, you all do it! My prediction (as a biased and optimistic Arsenal fan): Arsenal 1-0 Man City.

Apparently our top target, Mario Gotze of Borussia Dortmund, has revealed he only has eyes for either Arsenal or Barcelona, should he leave the club. Well considering Barcelona are full of brown-nosing, cheating scumbags, I would advise you to get a flight to London Gatwick, and ask the taxi man at the airport to take you Ashburton Grove…should you leave Borussia Dortmund. Besides, if you join us, you’ll play 8 years before also playing for Barcelona, considering we’re like a fucking feeder club to them. Yeah that’s right, I’m bitter, sue me.

Big game on Saturday against Wigan. They have a shit stadium and shit fans, but that doesn’t mean we will get 3 points. Wigan got a great 3 points at Sunderland. Let’s do the same to them on their turf. Hopefully Robin van Persie actually scores this time!

Have a good week Gooners. I’ll be back next week!
