Chuks Aneke Possible Loan Deal This Season

by on October 27, 2011

According to SkySports.com their are a host of Premiership and Championship sides who are interested in taking highly rated Chuks Aneke on loan. Aneke who made his first team debut this season against Shrewsbury Town in the Carling Cup third round coming on as a second half substitute. Premiership clubs Wolves, West Brom and Wigan are all reportedly battling it out to take the Arsenal youngster on loan in January.

But if Aneke went on loan to a Championship side instead he wouldn’t have to wait till January to go out on loan. After impressing for Neil Banfield side this season, it has given him the opportunity to train with Arsène Wenger first team a few times already this season. Scoring three goals in six reserve team games so far this season, Aneke was unused substitute in Arsenal recent match against Bolton in the Carling Cup.

This season has seen Aneke play in more than his just his number ten role by playing in a deeper center midfield role as well. Forming a good partnership with Dutch midfielder Oğuzhan Özyakup for the reserves this season.

Arsène Wenger recently compared Aneke to Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.

“Chuks is a bit like Yaya Toure – he has body power and good technique.

“We had Yaya here [on trial] and for me Chuks is a bit similar because he can play behind the striker or in a deeper role as well. We will have to see where he will develop, it is not excluded that in the future he will play deeper in midfield.”

The eighteen year old impressed in his first full season for the reserves last season by scoring six goals in 17 appearances. Aneke’s stand out performance last season was in the F.A Youth Cup Darlington Town, by scoring a hat-trick and getting three assists as well. The England U19 midfielder was involved in all of the Arsenal goals when the North London side defeated Darlington Town 6-1 last season.

Being around 6 ft 3, Aneke is tall and is a physical build but is know for his creativity and intelligence on the pitch. Being able to pick great final passes out and some have suggested a telepathic relationship with reserve striker Benik Afobe. He has the ability to score and create spectacular goals from midfield.

Arsène Wenger has even said he doesn’t know where Chuks Aneke will end up yet, if it’s in a more advanced attacking role or a deeper midfield role. He played a imported role in the U18’s Academy League title in 2009/10 season.

The article from SkySports does say their is a possibility of Aneke going on loan a short term loan to a Championship side till January. Then early next year going on loan to a Premiership club. The loan experience would benefit Aneke massively, the perfect example is Jack Wilshere when he went on loan to Bolton came back at the start of last season and becoming a regular in Arsène Wenger team.

Having massive potential and a possible candidate along with Benik Afobe to break in to the Arsenal first team in the seasons to come.

Chuks Aneke is English not Nigerian, their was speculation that Aneke chose to play for Nigeria instead of England but it wasn’t true. Recently this season Aneke played for England U19’s against Holland U19’s.
