4-4-2? Oxo and Park to start with Ryo on the bench?

by on September 20, 2011

Pre-match interview

As always, I’ve done one of those weird video-preview things. Be sure to watch it for… well my preview. I speak about the team we’ll put out, Shrewsbury’s start to the season and the formation!

For that Young Guns piece about who will feature tonight, click on this link.

I’ll write the team out as well,

—————————Fabianski (yay)———————

–Jenkers————JD–Iggy  Miquy————–Gibbsy–

—-Oxo-cube—Frimmers—-Franny Coquelin—Yossi—

That’s a 4-4-1-1/4-4-2. As I said in the video, it could easily be whatever the hell our normal formation is. I’m not really sure. It’s nice to see experimenting to try and fix our problems though.

Gunnerblog has spoken in more detail about the players coming in to play a part in tonight’s match, particularly Park, Oxo and Ryo. More on all three of those players, Arsene Wenger has spoken about Park’s abilities that make him such a good player, especially his adaptability and versatility. Speaking about Oxo, Wenger moved to separate comparisons between the young midfielder and Theo Walcott. Speaking about Ryo Miyaichi, both Robin Van Persie and Arsene Wenger have been ‘bigging up’ the young winger. It’s a shame he’s not fit enough to start, but I’m sure we’ll see more of him throughout the season.

Speaking of promising youngsters, both Pedro Bothelho and Joel Campbell put in decent performances last weekend. Pedro’s performance is worth watching, although it will be interesting to see how he fits in at Arsenal once he wins his work permit.

Two other things I think are worth looking at, but won’t really speak about that much. I think. The first is ‘Cesc-gate’. Looks like Cesc was right, no surprise there. I was taken aback when I heard people saying that he would be disrespectful about our club. It wouldn’t really make sense just days after agreeing that Arsenal should have first-refusal if he’s sold. Thankfully, the interview was a lie. Good times. Hopefully more footballers will pursue those kind of interviews now.

The second is Gazidis speaking this morning about ‘Silent Stan’, Arsene’s future and a few other things. Take a look. I never had a problem with Stan not wanting to be in the lime light, but I have to admit that if the future of the Arsenal fanshare is threatened, I would want to hear him say something. Just to know his viewpoint. Although it would be no more than populist drivel you can guarantee that Alisher Usmanov would have something to say about just about everything.

Anyway, enough politics. Let’s win tonight and see what the new players/ tactics are like. Be sure to comment with who you’re most looking forward to seeing play! Would you rather play two up front? Who do you think will score?

It is a good formation and i hope there are still more players to cover up for the guys because we really have to win this match so that we can build our confidence back and take our mind’s off the loss at Blackburn rovers and face the Carling cup game against shrews bury and i hope we can come out of that match with a 3 – 0 lead then we can progress the other stage of the Carling cup. Then we can face Bolton Wanderers with all confidence and i hope we can win Bolton Wanderers too then another game at the Emirates against Olympiakos. I hope we come back to the top four as the season progresses.
