Ryo gets his work permit, Nasri wants out and a few other things.

by on August 10, 2011

Let’s start with the biggy then, Ryo Miyaichi was granted a British work permit, being classed as an ‘exceptional talent’ after evidence was submitted by the club and the Japanese FA. Top stuff. Speaking of which, he could apparently go straight into their senior national side. Not sure whether that matters, but I thought I would include it anyway. I found this piece on Vital Arsenal interesting, even though it’s more about the signing of Oxlade-Chamberlain (now known as Oxo) and the advantage of having proper wingers.

Speaking of Oxo, he reckons we can win a trophy this year. Good stuff, not that we haven’t heard it at the start of the last few seasons as well. It was also interesting to note his reasons for joining, are they not exactly the same as Theo’s? Even down to the bit about Henry. It is quite exciting having so much more pace in the attack this year, with Miyaichi, Oxo and Ricky (Gervinho) to add to Theo’s pace.

Onto other news then and Laurent Blanc reckons Nasri should leave ASAP, Nasri’s agent doesn’t get along with Wenger because of a bust-up when Wenger was at Monaco, Chamakh has been talking about the fact that, as most people know, we could end the summer without a Nasri or a Fabregas. Or both. We already know that Nasri doesn’t particularly want to sign a new contract. He’s definitely available to the right bidder, aka City, it just depends whether they can actually be bothered to fumble around in their small change pouch for the meagre £22m up front that we’re asking for.

If he does leave, then Arda Turan won’t be replacing him. He’s apparently moved to Atletico Madrid for £12m. What a deal. Rumour has it that he was offered to us and Liverpool before-hand. The lack of English-ness obviously put Liverpool off, but I’m rather surprised that we didn’t get him for £12m. By rather I mean really. Wenger must be quite confident of getting hold of Mata then, with rumours of a new bid worth £20.1m, and holding onto Cesc. The Cesc saga has rather died down recently. Sport.es reckon he’s set to leave in a deal worth 40m euros, doubt it because that’s not £40m. As I’ve said before, a quick resolution is the most important part of these sagas, but that’s obviously not going to happen.

Aaron Ramsey, seen by many as the successor to Fabregas, has been talking about the new season as an opportunity to put his horrific leg-break behind him and get his development back on track. Andrei Arshavin is another one who’s been using the old jaw muscles to talk about a few things including the season ahead, speculation about his future and the signing of Oxo.

Vital Arsenal have also finished their series of articles on our FA Cup wins with the ’05 final. Obviously. My favourite, because it’s the only one I can really remember. If you’ve missed any of the articles in the series you can see the whole list here. I liked this as well. Funny. If you haven’t already then please be sure to check out my interview with Sam from 15yearoldgooner. Give it a read, it’s fantabulous.

That’s it for today, if you don’t already then you can follow me on ye olde twitter @SavageGooner. While you do that, I’m going to find some more bananas. Nick should have a post up tomorrow, assuming that it’s Wednesday today.

UPDATE: Just before publishing, reports have emerged that Arsenal are close to signing Scott Dann for £6m. Good news, except for the fact that it appeared on Goal.com. Believe it at your peril I suppose.

Yes this is great news and Miyaichi is like a new signing as he has neer represented us in any competitive and official games. Don’t you just love how the Arsenal squad has such good diversity. English, Welsh, French, Japanese, Finnish, Belgian, Swisse, Mexican, Congolese, Ghanain, Morrocan, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Czech Republic, Dutch, Ivory coast and Italian.

  6. Wenger, there is no need of preventing Samir Nasri to go where he wants. Get the offer of 22 million pounds and leave him vacate the club. He has refused to remain in the club for the salary of 11 million pounds which the club offered. As a person of good brain how can you go and earn a salary of 9.6 million pounds and to leave the 11 million pounds salary given by your club?
