No Mata doesn’t Mata, there’s always Turan!

by on August 3, 2011

I’m not sure that pun worked, but I’ve been waiting ages to use one on the Mata of Juan Mata. Why not, another Juan won’t hurt anyway. Mwahaha! Right, time to get serious. As always, there’s people saying Mata depends on Cesc, Cesc depends on Barca, Nasri has agreed a contract but is yet to sign, etc. Not much happening really… Fear not though! I bring hope in the form of an unsubstantiated rumour. This is so unsubstantiated that I don’t even have the usual link to a random gibberish-spouting paper because it’s all just rumours. Apparently if we fail to sing Juan Mata, Arda Turan will be our target instead! Personally, I’m a fan of Turan who’s known for his passing and dribbling. A good bit of drooling on the left flank wouldn’t go amiss in my opinion.

Having said that, nobody has a clue what’s happening, except Arsene Wenger of course. Wait. Get this. We’re looking at signing someone! A young forward. I think it was a forward anyway. Good news though, they’re Spanish and not from Barca. We’re loaning a youngster out to Spain as well, young Galindo it would seem. A good young player who struggled for fitness last year after his broken ankle. He’s moving to a more suitable team this year though, needless to say I’ll let you know if he does anything amazing like get 7 assists per match or learns to fly.

With the official club photo taking place tomorrow, there had been idiotic rumours that we would be doing two photos, one with Cesc in and one without him where RVP would be wearing the armband. According to SkyNews, that’s gibberish and Cesc will be in the picture, unless he’s sold in the next 24 hours anyway. Good times, taking two pictures just seems like the kind of thing a selling club with no ambition, i.e. the club down the road, would do.

For what it’s worth, if it’s true that we’re going to be offered at least £37m for Cesc I would take it. I know he’s worth more, but we can’t have this saga repeated every summer until 2015, he’s not even ready for the season and this is one of the hardest Augusts we’ve ever faced! The Torygraph have been going around saying they reckon Barca will stump up £35m. Let’s just hope the saga reaches some kind of end sooner rather than later.

Anyways, Abou Diaby is set for a stint on the side-lines after undergoing surgery. Rangers are interested in Rhys Murphy after he impressed in a trial match, although the move could just be on loan rather than permanent. The Mail reckon we’re scouting Scott Dann with a view to a move for the defender. A name that’s been thrown around, I’m not sure how true this one is, especially seeing as Arseblog said earlier today that if we were interested in Dann then surely we would have scouted him on multiple occasions before-hand?

One other thing, Vital Arsenal continue their series on our FA Cup wins with a summary the 2002 campaign where we completed the double and quashed some bad memories. Be sure to read if you’re interested in the history of the club, which should be all of you.

That’s all for today peoples. I’m not that happy with today’s blog post for some reason but ‘whatevs’ as some may say. If you don’t already, be sure to follow me on twitter @SavageGooner for incisive analysis, credible transfer news and general bollocks. Enjoy your Wednesday. :)

arsenal board and wenger are taking too long to react, they must understand there are expectations,we are a big club, concerning financial position surely in the top 5. please sir,we need 5 players. 2 defensive cover,1 winger,1 playmaker and a versatile midfield attacfker. my suggestion slash the cash.
1… chieliini or cahill or samba
